Vintage Humbucker Pickups

Humbucker pickups have been made by a number of different manufacturers over the years. The one thing they have in common is that they are designed to "buck the hum". They are designed with two oppositely charged pickups wired in series. This helps to reduce the interference normally found in single coil pickups. The first humbucker was produced by Gibson and many people think of Gibson's Les Paul electric guitar when they here the word "humbucker".
